I did write quite a bit (about symptoms) 4 or 5 years ago about what I thought (and still) was northern ccd
It does vary a bit depending on season and locale
Even suggested treatment

And, after all, if the suggested treatment works, then that is an indirect proof
Even if it is trying to prove a negative

I haven't seen some of my bees for 9 months, 
all 4 seen so far live.
