Hi HistArch'ers
I'm looking for recommendations for articles and reference books for
analysis of late 19th century (1860-1890) whitewares, white improved
earthenwares, ironstones, and hotel china.
We have a solid set of reference books for transfer print pattern
identification and maker's mark identification, but fewer resources for
identifying molded ironstone patterns and hand-painted floral/vegetal
patterns.
We are currently using Wetherbee's books on white ironstone ("A collectors
guide" "a look at white ironstone" and "a second look at white ironstone")
as well as Dieringer's "White Ironstone China Identification Guide" and
Conroy's two-volume set, "Restaurant China."
Any suggestions would be gratefully welcomed -
--Barb
