The Journal of African Diaspora Archaeology and Heritage provides a focal
point for peer-reviewed publications in interdisciplinary studies in
archaeology, history, material culture, and heritage dynamics concerning
African descendant populations and cultures across the globe. The Journal
invites articles on broad topics, including the historical processes of
culture, economics, gender, power, and racialization operating within and
upon African descendant communities. We seek to engage scholarly,
professional, and community perspectives on the social dynamics and
historical legacies of African descendant cultures and communities
worldwide. The Journal publishes research articles and essays that review
developments in these interdisciplinary fields.
Submissions: The Journal invites the submission of original articles, essays
and commentaries that present particular case studies, comparative and
synthesizing studies, or commentaries on the state of developments in
particular topics of research and the related theories, methods, and
techniques of study. After initial review by the editor, all submitted
manuscripts are subject to anonymous peer review by researchers, scholars,
and practitioners in the relevant fields of study. Authors may suggest
potential reviewers; however, the Journal will not be bound by such
suggestions. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously
and should not be under consideration by other publishers. Authors are
responsible for the content and accuracy of submitted manuscripts and
obtaining permissions for any copyrighted materials used or reproduced as
part of the manuscript.
