Has anyone experienced granulated honey in capped and uncapped comb cells?
Granulated honey was found in two apiaries separated at least five miles apart, East of Hartshorne, OK, without any cultivated crops within several miles of these apiaries. Several of these wax comb frames containing granulated honey were from new wax foundation placed in the hives in April 2013.
This area experienced more rainfall than normally received in April, May and June resulting in lower terrain staying wetter than normal. These wetter areas had an abnormal population of sumpweed; however, I have not found any documentation of this plant causing honey to granulate in comb.
