Here in Natick MA (42.27861, -71.35464) one of my 2 hives has had a fantastic spring. They filled 5 shallow honey supers and then I ran out of equipment (thank you wax moths) so I decided to extract.
The other hive did not come out of the winter with enough bees to survive (I think I killed the queen with MAQS) and I've put in a package.
Anyway, this is just an early report on honey production. I extracted 126 lbs of honey from the one hive yesterday. A friend with a single hive in her yard a mile away also extracted and counted 135 lbs.
I've put the equipment back on the hive to see if they can do anything with our mid summer honey flow.
