On a related note, a brief survey of the Detroit makerspace scene and Maker Faire Detroit from one of the founders of the local independent makers group, i3.

The author affirms a central aspiration of the makerspace movement, that, "As time goes on, these spaces are looking less like niche clubs, and more like well-established resources for their communities."

He also mentions HYPE, the Detroit Public Library's makerspace. It's very cool.
