I have been a so called beekeeper for 39 years. Worked around bees from
1950'ish.
Since Varroa and neonics have enter the equation, trouble has been the norm.
Personally I think both are equal to blame. Varroa is a bad pest. Neonics
build over time
and present a larger problem. Pollen is contaminated and hurts inside the
brood nest.
All things added and problems are severe.
Beekeepers are not very different than 59 years back.
