Have had lots of designs in mind, and am now on third prototype. I saw the
shaker used by the Univ of Guelph bee lab--a converted standard lab
side-to-side shaker at very low frequency. I was incredulous that it would
dislodge all the mites, but when I questioned them (repeatedly) was assured
that they had confirmed.
One must also think about splash, how to recover the mites without loss
from below the bees, etc.
The shaker that I am playing with will hold 12 samples at a time, and am
currently changing from side-to-side to swirl.
If anyone has successful shaker designs, please let me know.
