By definition a weed is a plant growing where it is not wanted. So corn is
a weed in soybeans. For us beekeepers canadian thistle may not be a weed
because it produces nectar. Managed wildflowers may be considered a crop,
but are still wildflowers because they have not been genetically managed,
and still retain the characteristics maintained by natural selection. When
we subject them to our management we alter this natural selection. The term
"weed" is totally subjective.
