Perhaps she meant to say "mechanical", thinking of the Chinese hand-pollinating some plants with brushes. Or maybe she even said "mechanical" and a reporter mis-heard it as "chemical". Regardless, it's a safe bet that it'll be picked up by anti-pesticide bloggers far and wide. Just as Monsanto is accused of purposely poisoning bees with GMOs so they can patent and sell their own GMO-resistant bee, Bayer will now be accused of purposely wiping out bees with neonics so they can market their own chemical pollination products.
