Hi all, A while back I found a set of cufflinks with an engraved fox and the word "Tallio" in a 19th c context at the Johnanes Kolb site, near Darlington, SC. I'm looking at the artifacts from this feature again and did a search for the word and image and came across a reference to Laura Galke finding one in a 1766-1772 context at Ferry Farm, which led to an article by Sara Cofield, where she adds an example from 1798. My example comes from a context that yielded cut sponge decorated whiteware (sorry George, CC ware), which according to George Miller post dates 1845. This was found in a root cellar, and is thought to be from a slave occupation. So mine may be a highly curated keepsake. Has anyone else found these, and if so, what is the date of your context? thanks, Carl
