So true Larry. All of our notable (worthy?) CRM reports should be made Available (thru PDFing and uploading online)...so the information can be Shared. Of course, the sensitive site Location info needs to be left out...but our reports do that anyway (they have a confidential volume).

Thanks for the kind words, Larry.
One of the biggest problems in archaeology is finding information. Literally
thousands or reports (admittedly of varying quality) molder away in various
storage facilities, when they could be useful. Even though the internet creates
yet another layer of non-refereed literature (from grey to grayish-tan, maybe),
it is an incredibly available medium.

Thanks to Bill and his team for taking on this re-analysis of an important
collection AND especially for making it available as a free pdf.
We should all be doing this with our completed work.

Subject: New Bottle Report
Hi All,
Below is Bill Lindsey's write-up on a new report we have just completed. Last
summer, Bottle Research Group members examined the collection of bottles from a
Fort Riley, Kansas, privy. Based on our analysis, we were able to design and
test a few new hypotheses that led to new insights. As noted below, the report
is free online of available for $15 plus shipping from Lulu.com.
This is NOT part of the Encyclopedia. We have about 30 other irons in the fire
at the same time.

Lockhart, Bill, Bill Lindsey, Beau Schriever, and Carol Serr. 2012. New
Insights from the Bottles Excavated at the Fort Riley Hospital Privy. Privately
published by Bill Lockhart & the Bottle Research Group. This well illustrated
work highlights the reanalysis of hundreds of bottles and bottle fragments
systematically excavated in 1984 from a large privy at Fort Riley, KS. used
from the late 1850s into the 1890s. The reanalysis resulted in the
identification of several previously unattributed makers markings as well as
provided a significant amount of information to affirm and refine many of the
concepts and dating guidelines found on this site. This copyrighted work is
available for sale as a softbound book via www.Lulu.com<http://www.Lulu.com>
