Peter asked:
"Well, what about Helen Thompson? Got anything on her? She and James
Cresswell write in a recent (21 September 2012) edition of "Science"
that......."
As I recall, Helen Thompson works for FERA, a government agency. She
gave us a talk a couple of years ago at a DARG (Devon Apicultural
Research Association) seminar. James Cresswell is based at Exeter
University and gave a talk on neonics to West Dorset BKA some years
ago. I wasn't very impressed as he considered that bees don't use
guttation fluid so I posted him a reference from Beowulf Cooper's book:
The Honeybees of the British Isles.
There seems to be some interraction between these people/bodies as Ben
Jones, who works for FERA, is studying for his PhD under the guidance
of Cresswell, as I recall.
