>>> I know of a few beekeepers (generally running Russian stock)
who indeed run profitable businesses without chemical treatment of mites.
I have a friend and his son-in-law who will be getting about fifteen packages of bees this coming spring and which are touted to be Russian hybrids. More than a few years ago I had three hives of Russians that were included in a study. At that time I was informed that Russian hybrids were a different critter from a pure Russian strain, and that they had different hive characteristics and different capabilities than the pure Russian strain. I would really like to hear from those of you out there that run the pure Russians and those who run the hybrids. What are you observing with your bees and what can my friends expect from their packages? Thanks.
