> Bottom line - if anyone says they've a product that is the magic bullet in terms of reducing viral loads, ask for proof.
While we are on the subject of proof, I would like to see proof that a treatment-free regimen works. A lot of claims are made about this, but I have never seen a spreadsheet.
I would like to see: spring count, number of splits or hives added, fall count, spring count, and for a couple of years in a row.
There is nothing wrong with losing half or more your bees over winter, then tripling the number in summer, maintaining a good average count. If this is what treatment free beekeeping means, I am all for it.
But to say "we never lose bees" without giving numbers, is a lot of hot air.
