I'm working on a reply, but it is very hard to write something that
explains the topic and is not misunderstood.
I think my original comments were misunderstood as I was referring to
providing additional brood and honey space in the unsettled weather of
the early season -- before the time for supering -- by adding brood
boxes under an undisturbed existing hive that is getting crowded and
possibly plugged by honey as well.
I was not suggesting bottom supering -- or anything to do with supers.
