After baiting a bee onto my hand with a drop of Newcastle brown, she
slurped away at it, and soon became visibly erratic in her behavior.

Was the Newcastle at the proper temperature? Did you refill her "glass" or
perhaps this was the reason for the erratic behavior? Would a drone get two
drops, keeping with the man=pint, women=half pint (x2) rule?
