> Will swarms in flight to a new home settle if they lose track of the sun
by clouding?

>Pete gave a good answer. I think it was "No".

Yes, I accept it as a good answer.
However, I am still seeing a number
of swarms staying put in bivouac on
cloudy days. Swarm calls tend to drop
from and average of 2 or 3 per day
to zero on cloudy days. So perhaps
other factors may be causing this effect.
Yesterday of example, I finally received
much needed rest from running swarms,
-a partly cloudy day was spent working
on bee equipment.

Another interesting observation is that
during interviews with customers, I
am finding many swarms enter structures
between 9 and 11 AM. Perhaps the
idle time of night encourages scouts
to give up promoting less attractive
voids, and speeds up the process
next morning. Or perhaps they swarmed
that morning and made a quick
decision, I don;t know, but find the
early void possessing by swarms
interesting.
