---------------------------------------------

The Department of Anthropology at Brandeis University invites applications for the position of tenure track Assistant Professor in Historical Archaeology, beginning July 1, 2020. We seek an accomplished researcher and teacher to complement and diversify our current regional, methodological, and theoretical strengths and contribute to the department's undergraduate and graduate programs. We particularly invite applicants whose scholarship engages with topics including race, labor, gender, colonialism, resistance, inequality, indigeneity, globalization, heritage, and the environment. This position is subject to budget approval. Candidates should hold a PhD in Anthropology or Archaeology no later than July 1, 2020.
Applicants should submit a cover letter that discusses current and future research and teaching. Brandeis University is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of faculty effort, including scholarship, instruction, and service. We value and seek candidates with a variety of social identities, including those underrepresented in higher education, who possess skills that spark innovation, and who bring expertise in building, engaging and sustaining a pluralistic, unified, and just campus community. The cover letter should therefore also briefly address how the applicant’s experiences, interests, or future goals could promote pluralism and equity in research, teaching, and/or service. Applicants should also submit a CV; a writing sample of no more than 40 pages (such as a published article, article manuscript, or dissertation chapter); and the names and contact information of three referees. Applications should be submitted through:
https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/14300
First consideration will be given to applications received by October 1, 2019; preliminary interviews will be held by web conference with the aim of bringing final candidates to campus in late November/early December. Please contact Charles Golden ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>), chair of the search committee, with any questions.

    Submit the following items online at this website to complete your application:

  *   Cover Letter
  *   Curriculum Vitae
  * A writing sample of no more than 40 pages
