I used to have trouble figuring out which hives to load with full supers of
comb honey foundation and it could be hit or miss based on production and
comb building/capping traits. I read a piece in Bee Culture a couple of
years ago where a beekeeper put a single frame of comb honey foundation in
the center of many honey supers and I have been doing so ever since with
excellent results. I just mark the frames with a 'C' and set them aside
during extraction. I bag full supers of comb honey in large trash bags and
store in a chest freezer. Thaw out a couple of frames at a time in a trash
bag so all condensation is on the outside and it works like a charm.
