Misty,

You could try looking in the Mackinac Island State Parks
publications for references. In addition, there may be references in some
publications from Michigan State University, since at one time they did a
lot of work on French sites in the Great Lakes region (both published and in
dissertations). I don't know if Cleland's article on Jesuit Finger Rings
contains any cross referenced material, but it might be worth a check. Also,
you might try contacting Vergil Noble regarding your question.

	Tom

Subject: French signet rings

Does anyone know of any references for or sites (French or otherwise)
that have produced 18th century French signet rings? The publications
I've seen, such as Carolyn White's American Artifacts of Personal
Adornment, 1680-1820, are more oriented toward those of the UK/
American colonies/English-speaking world.

Thanks.
