>Tim has seen wax moth larvae crawling around at -40C in Alberta
Before this statement grows legs, it is difficult to imagine any
invertebrate actually moving at -40C. "Crawling" is different that
"surviving."
The point I wanted to make was that wax moth doesn't necessarily die at cold
temperatures, if the temperature drop is gradual, to kill it needs to be
rapid. Wax moth larvae will survive our ( Alberta) winters, they aren't
dancing a jig, but they are moving, hence they are alive.
