Not that easy in many areas.  Of the million and a half colonies going to
Calif almonds, I'll bet that only a tiny fraction would make it without
treatment.

As you say Joe, running strongly resistant stock would sure help.

I breed my own resistant stock, but in my area, nucs established with
resistant queens from anywhere in the states rarely make it a year without
treatment.
