I like Grants suggestion of Pinesol.

I am currently seeking repellent 
alternatives which would not 
require a DEA permit to purchase.

Is anyone familiar with repellents
used in the manner described on
this link:.

They are suggesting repellents could be 
used in combination with pesticides so that 
beehive losses due to poisoning and honey 
contamination would be prevented.

Use of repellents for honeybees (Apis mellifera L.) 
in vitro in the yellow passion-fruit (Passiflora edulis 
Deg) crop and in confined beef cattle feeders
