Quoting American OSHA regulations really isn't helpful here. In case you haven't heard, Canada has been its own country with it's own government for quite some time now...

It didn't read as a fatal accident, though wall trench collapses are not terribly uncommon, especially on construction sites. From what I've seen, OSHA regulations are not widely read in the archaeological community.
