>> Knapp Weed is classed as a noxious weed in MT, it is very invasive
its invasive everywhere, it will eventually crowd out the golden rod. THe last 10 years I lived in Mass. the goldenrod became less and less of a honey producer but nothing ever replaced it(I still have never run across Knapp weed down there). I never saw Knapp weed until I moved to N.Y., but up here all it takes is one year of corn and all the herbicides associated with it. THe good part of Knapp weed is it still appears to produce honey during the drought where the goldenrod so far isn't doing much. As far as beeks planting it, I know of one who will remain nameless that had the seeds in his pocket when his wife washed his shirt. This dought year the hives around knapp weed are finally producing some honey, the ones without are in deep trouble. mike syracuse ny
