The best plan would be to leave them on the hives. If the hives get too tall, get a step ladder. Storing honey is perilous at best. Refrigeration is the only safe plan. Sealed in bags in a very cold place, like a walk in cooler, it will keep perfectly well. If at all warm, you are liable to get wax moths and hive beetles hatching from the unseen eggs.
