Recently, the directors of over 14,000 collecting institutions across the country were invited to participate in the HHI 2014 National Collections Care Survey. Please do all YOU can to make sure as many surveys are completed as possible!

The survey was sent by email with the subject: "Opportunity Knocks - The HHI 2014 National Collections Care Survey is Here!" This email contains personal survey login information. Gathering information about our nation's archaeological collections is essential; if invited, SHA and Histarch members are strongly encouraged to participate.

The first Heritage Health Index survey (carried out in 2004) was critical to identifying gaps in collections care across the United States and lead to a number of funding initiatives which have worked to fill those gaps and improve collections care nationally. Archaeological collections have unique challenges, therefore it is important to ensure that they are well represented in the current survey.

The deadline is November 24, 2014. Help preserve our shared heritage and strengthen collections care by doing all you can to complete the HHI 2014 National Collections Care Survey.

For more information, email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> or call 202.233.0824.

Sincerely,
The SHA Collections and Curation Committee
