Fulling mill set up, sounds like. There is a similar system at Mission
Santa Ynez that I saw dating to about the same period (early 1800s). Dye
houses were kept by professionals and consisted of a series of fireplaces in
a row with large tubs for rinsing. And normally on the edge of town due to
the smell...... Not likely by weavers right by the house. Very
interesting, thanks!
