Archaeological Legacy Institute hasextended the deadline to February 21, 2014, for the submittal of papers for The Archaeology ChannelConference on Cultural Heritage Film to be held May 12-13, 2014, in Eugene,Oregon, USA, as part of our Eleventh annual installment of The Archaeology Channel Internationalfilm and Video Festival (May 9-13, 2014). The Conference will be held at the University of Oregon Baker DowntownCenter.  This is an international event,with films and film-makers coming from around the globe.  We have commitments currently from Armeniaand Iran and expect participation also from other counties as well as theUS.  Conference presenters will receivetickets to all TAC Festival film screenings, which take place May 9-11.  The official call for papers is posted in ourFestival area at http://bit.ly/13A1sJR.
 
Papers on applications of film(academic, cultural, practical, educational) will be considered for conferencepresentation.  There will also be an opendiscussion of Festival films.  The goalsof this conference are three-fold: (1) to promote the creation, distributionand use of cultural heritage film as an influence for broad cultural awarenessand understanding; (2) to bring together educators, film-makers,archaeologists, anthropologists, historians, journalists, historicpreservationists, environmentalists, geographers, and others interested incultural heritage and its connections to the natural environment; and (3) toencourage the exchange of new ideas and approaches to employ film for thecommon good of all humanity.
 
Conference participants in May2013 came from diverse places, including Armenia, Macedonia, Malaysia,Pakistan, and eight states in the USA.  TheConference has grown each year and we look forward to continuing significantgrowth in participation for 2014.
