I don't know what's planned for the Quebec SHA regarding cemeteries and mortuary practices, but your topic would fit right in at the June 2014 Association for Gravestone Studies annual conference which will be in Indiana.  The calls for conference papers usually comes out in early Fall.  Check out the AGS website for information.

Greetings, 
I was wondering if anyone is doing a session dealing with cemeteries or mortuary practices for the upcoming SHA in Quebec.  Alternately, is anyone is doing a session on African American archeology of the American Civil War and early post-bellum period?  I am interested in presenting a paper on an African American post-Emancipation Cemetery in Texas.  Remains from this cemetery are unique in several ways and collectively highlight belief systems, health, and cultural practices during a period-- and in a place-- of intense social instability.
