Folks,

We're delighted to bring you our first guest blogger for 2013, Loren
Steffy. His father, the late J. Richard Steffy, was a pioneer in the field
of underwater archaeology. "Dick" Steffy's ship models of ancient sea
craft helped teach a generation of underwater archaeologists at Texas A &
M University.  In this post Loren Steffy recounts his search for one of
his father's earliest ship models lost decades ago.
