I want to thank George Miller for the message about the new book on
the Owens-Illinois Company. BUT also want to remind all the members
on HISTARCH that George L. Miller will be the:
2012 Recipient of the J. C. Harrington Medal

We all need to attend SHA 2012 in Baltimore, Maryland and to attend
the Banquet-Awards Ceremony to honor George for his outstanding
record of "hitting the bottle" (esp. with Owen's scars), dropping
dishes (into Ceramic Indices), and taking us all to the store with a
"shopping basket." There are very few people in our discipline who
have made such contributions in material culture studies and the use
of primary documentary sources.

CONGRATULATIONS to George. We will all see you in Baltimore.

Bob Schuyler

P.S. I am sure Terri and others will see that chairs will be put out
for those who can not afford the banquet, including students, but
want to see the Awards Ceremony.
