Without wishing to make David feel any more picked upon than he already does, I would note that the current economic situation suggests that Capitalism looks a bit ropey when it runs out of other people's money as well.

David, I am sure that everyone on the list fully appreciates your right to have your own view on politics, historical processes etc and that the list is sufficiently committed to the project of conducting historical archaeology for it not to be exclusive to one political position or another.  Going back to the point of your original post, it may well not be the fault of the publisher.  Editors, authors, printers and distributors can all take a hand in delaying publication with the publisher having little way of sorting it out.  Perhaps in this case, it is a question of poor communication with customers to let them know what the situation is.
