The best cover for bees are bees, I think attendants who break the fall of queens in the cage and clean her are a must. Attendants might be benificial at introduction or at least they do not harm. The only thing is that they might carry something, a nice non local varroa or other pathogen burden. As soon as a queen hatches I put 6-10 attendendants togehter with her in a flat transport cage. I don't notice adverse effects after a week in the incubator at say 30 degr C (lower than the incubation temp of 34 degr (plusminus 1) but I try to move queens to nucs asap. Lennard
