The military badge (U. S. Army Signal Corps) can probably be identified by the U. S. Army Signal Corps Museum at Fort Gordon, Georgia. It is probably not a recent (post-1969) military badge. Possibly World War II, but I haven't confirmed this with the museum director yet.
