I believe there's great potential for such exploratory learning environments
in schools. I've been involved in several projects like this over the years,
but generally it is hard work to convince British teachers that it is
worthwhile. The main problems seem to be:
* lack of space
* timetable constraints
* curriculum constraints
* lack of teacher motivation
* lack of respect for open-ended exploratory learning
Here's a short movie of a nice 'shiny' project in a newly-opened school in
Moscow, Russia, where they installed a set of my mini-interactives in their
library. But I think it is so much better when children are encouraged to
design and build their own interactives.

Give people facts and you feed their minds for an hour.
Awaken curiosity and they feed their own minds for a lifetime.
