One of my professors (blue crab specialist) made the case for "if it
doesn't have an end, it doesn't have a brain", meaning that nerve-like
cells begin to develop on the end that enters the environment - leaving out
porifera, coelenterata/cnidaria and echinodermata, but are well possible in
worms. Great article, thanks.
