The Southwestern Mission Research Center (SMRC) is an all-volunteer
nonprofit organization committed to the cause of supporting Spanish
Borderlands research and education. Our Kino Missions tours introduce
people to the history and culture of the Pimerķa Alta, in the Sonoran
Desert of Mexico and Arizona. Proceeds from these tours enable us to
sponsor important scholarship on a broader level, assist with
publications, and promote education, as well as engage in cooperative
restoration projects with the mission communities.
SMRC recently created a new web site:
southwestmissions.org
Please take a moment to explore our site to learn more about Spanish
colonial missions and the work of SMRC.
Whenever you have news about Spanish colonial period archaeology or
history of the Southwest, please post your news on the HISTARCH listserve.
SMRC will consider posting news about your projects at
southwestmissions.org to give broader exposure.
Thank you,
Allen Dart, RPA
