I've also used a great deal of thymol. In order to get a good mite kill, I
find that we need to apply enough to kill some sealed brood--no big deal.
And the bees and queen often avoid the area near the treatment.
On the other hand, with oxalic dribble, there is not *noticable* brood
kill, the queen appears to be unaffected, and the bees seem quite happy
afterward.
