>Plasticell/RiteCell/Pemadent
I use all three, depending upon who has what in stock when I need. I
slightly favor Permadent for bee acceptance.
I sell nucs, and am also expanding, and to do so must have the bees draw
several thousand frames each year, which puts me in a similar situation to
Jeremy--I have few really old, dark combs in my operation.
Unlike Lloyd, though, I don't notice any particular problem with getting the
bees to draw the combs, and only have them draw it on natural nectar flows,
as I'm too cheap to feed syrup for them to do so. No flow, no comb drawn.
Timing and placement are everything.
I look at my old wiring boards from time to time, and although I suspect
that bees might like natural comb better, I have no desire to go back to the
tedium of wiring and embedding wax combs. If I were a recreational
beekeeper, however, I might consider, although I don't recommend in my
beginners classes.
