I have been using "queen extract" to bait swarm traps lately, with some
success. Whenever I have to cull a queen - for hotness, poor disease
resistance, etc - I add her to a little bit of alcohol in a jar. I doubt
it smells exactly like live queen pheromone and lemongrass may be a better
mimic, but a dab of queen extract may work if you cannot get lemongrass oil
and have the occasional excess queen.

>>They do not sell lemongrass oil here. Does anyone have any thoughts on
my quandry?
