I would take issue with the post that said:

While I have the greatest respect for the commercial guys, it has to be said that it's not all that difficult to keep bees alive if you split and requeen twice a year, have HFCS available at every drop yard, winter in the south and put every *** **** chemical possible, into the hive as a miticide or antibiotic. (Grin) I'm an MB and think I could do that, but I wouldn't have the guts to put everything I own on the table at the start of each new season. Those with the courage to do so are less in number each year. (This alone indicates they are not too smart.) (Smiling now.)
