Finding it difficult to start the climate change conversation with visitors? Learn how to start (and end) these sometimes difficult conversations at ASTC's one-day training workshop this fall.

ASTC would like to offer floor staff in its US member institutions the opportunity to apply to "Engaging Visitors on Climate Science," a one-day workshop leading up to the ASTC 2011 Annual Conference. Participants will learn about common climate science misperceptions, the psychology of climate change, and communications strategies, and have the chance to hear stories from experienced floor staff.

This workshop will be held October 13, 2011.

Speakers will include:
Susan Hassol, Director, Climate Communication
Ed Geary, Program Director, EHR/DRL, National Science Foundation & Former Director, Globe
Martin Weiss, Vice President of Science, New York Hall of Science
Sabine Marx, Managing Director, Center for Research on Environmental Decisions, Columbia University

Room and board for one night will be provided by organizers, and space is limited. Thirty participants will be selected.
