ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

We say the basic "Science Center staff are working to repair this exhibit." Our new out of order signs will have that phrase along with a Fun Science Fact, so the visitor has something to take away.

We use a fun little sign that says "Being fun can wear you out! This interactive exhibit is exhausted and is taking a short rest. Please enjoy our other exhibits in the mean time."
