The Society for Post-Medieval Archaeology has instituted a new annual lecture to honour the memory of our late president, Geoff Egan.

The first Geoff Egan Memorial Lecture will be held at the Society of Antiquaries of London, Burlington House, Piccadilly, at 7pm on Friday 16 December. The lecture will be given by David Gaimster (University of Glasgow Museums), entitled: ‘Artefacts, art and artifice. Revisiting iconographic sources for archaeological objects in early modern Europe’: http://www.spma.org.uk/

The lecture will be preceded by a wine reception at 6.15pm, to launch the Society's latest monograph, 'The Archaeology of Post-Medieval Religion', edited by Chris King and Duncan Sayer: http://www.boydellandbrewer.com/store/viewitem.asp?idproduct=13839
Places are still available for the wine reception and lecture. Please apply to the secretary, Chris King ( [log in to unmask] ) for free admission tickets, which will be issued on a first come first served basis.
