Hello Randy & All,
As with all posts on BEE-L I have posted from actual experience in the field
backed up by the tests we have done what I have observed and formed opinion.
The list can decide what to use.
As far as those researchers and members of the list which do not agree with
me then I respect that.
I stand by what I have posted and do disagree with quite a bit of the
conclusions the CCD team came up with but not their test results.

So far I have not found this to be true looking at many collapsed operations
and its a 50/50 split between commercial beeks that CCD spreads *quickly*
through yards.
My hypothesis (based on the hypothesis of Jerry that CCD is caused by a
virus /nosema event) is that it takes a period of time with high varroa load
for a virus event and it takes months and maybe a year for nosema ceranae
spores loads to be found in all samples and forcing bees to go off feed.
Those beeks which *think* it spreads fast *in my opinion* simply have bees
on the verge of collapse with few signs of problems as most have not been
checking nosema loads like they should and their varroa loads have been too
high for a season or two.
Fact:
The hypothesis that CCD spreads quickly through a yard of bees has not yet
been proven .
Those that say it has please explain exactly what CCD is I am still
confused?
I know what virus and nosema ceranae are?
I have NEVER saw virus or nosema spread fast through a yard however I have
saw nosema & virus reach a level of problems and seem to spread through the
yard.

There is no way to prove one way or the other.

Glad Jerry is coming around to what I said from the start! Go back and read
my posts from the period.
Would you like for me to pull up those old posts ?
Both you and Jerry argued over and over that CCD was viral and nosema had
little to do with CCD.
Now you both seem to have moved closer to what I posted back then.
Dr. Mussen certainly believes nosema ceranae can kill bee hives. Ask Eric.
