You might want to try:
http://www.jefpat.org/nehweb/assets/documents/findingaids/18BA100-%20Howard%20McHenry%20Mill%20Finding%20Aid.htm
It has a summary of a project I did thirty years ago which included a miller's residence.
The web page has a variety sites represented including a residence related to iron furnace workers.

Subject: Miller's Dwellings
We are trying to research the material culture of Mills and Miller's
dwellings for our mill (c. 1704) and Miller's house (c. 1739). Most of
the sources we have encounter deal with the machinery and lay out of
mills, not the ancillary furnishings and equipment that was normally
used in mills. I have not seen a study of another Miller's house. Any
suggestions?
