Rachel,
We have fully tested and mapped NP-2 (Camp Robert Fechner) in Shenandoah National Park, as well as developed survey methodologies for CCC camps in heavily vegetated settings. The Park Service installed interpretive signage at Camp Fechner and rents 'GPS Rangers' that contain a Big Meadows Discovery Hike with waypoints keyed to significant camp locations (supplemented with audio, video, and animation). It is very popular.

Subject: CCC camp interpretations
Greetings listers,
I recall a thread from last year about CCC camps. I am looking for
examples of CCC camps in various parts of the country that have been
both excavated and interpreted for the general public as part of a park,
museum display, or some other public project. Anyone who has any
information about those can email me directly at
[log in to unmask] Thanks.
