It was my understanding that one of the diagnostic traits for "CCD" is the presence of unattended brood in the colony - these authors report very little brood in any of the collapsed colonies, and less in all doses than in the control. Did they replicate CCD, or did they kill colonies by force feeding an insecticide already known to be toxic?
